Student Scholarships

Research Assistant 

Analytics Lab offers research assistant positions in the following areas: big data analytics in supply chain, logistics and operations context.
 

Undergraduate capstone awards 

Analytics Lab offers undergraduate student teams working on a capstone project with Analytics Lab a monetory award. Project solutions must demonstrate evidence of being creative, resourceful and innovative solution.
 

UNDERGRADUATE ScholarshipS 

Analytics Lab offers Undergraduate scholarships to recognise outstanding full-time BSc (IS) Information Systems or Smart-City Management & Technology Majors or BSc (Computer Science) IT Solution Development major students who demonstrate evidence of being creative, resourceful and innovative.
 

Eligible Criteria

To be eligible for this Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Full-time undergraduate programme student of any nationality
  • Excellent academic results
  • Special consideration may be given to students who satisfy one or more (but not restricted to) of the following criterion/criteria:
    • Year 2 or 3 students
    • Strong Analytics and/or Technical skills (Python or Java)
    • Students with relevant experience in supply chain or operation management
    • Students who has special interest and passion in big data analytics in supply chain, logistics and operations
    • Students with financial needs

    Exclusions

    Must not be a recipient of other scholarship/sponsorship  

    Tenure and Benefits of the Scholarship

    • No bond is required of the scholarship recipient.
    • The scholarship recipient is required to embark on an internship with Analytics Lab for a period of 10 weeks during term 3. The commitment level of the scholarship recipient will be negotiated during the selection process between the scholarship recipient and the lab’s management.
    • The scholarship, valued at least S$10,000, will be disbursed in accordance to disbursement schedule set out by SIS Undergraduate office. Note that full disbursement is given only when the recipient's Internship with DSLab has been completed. The successful scholarship recipient shall finance tuition fees as per the Undergraduate programme’s requirement.

    Master Scholarships 

    Analytics Lab offers Master scholarships to recognise outstanding full-time Master of IT in Business (Analytics and AI) or Master of Applied Information Systems (MAIS) students who demonstrate evidence of being creative, resourceful and innovative. If there are no qualified MITB or MAIS students, it will be open to all Master students in SMU.

    Eligible Criteria

    To be eligible for this Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

    • Full-time MITB-Analytics/AI/MAIS programme (or other qualified Master) students of any nationality
    • Strong academic results
    • Special consideration may be given to students who satisfy one or more (but not restricted to) of the following criterion/criteria:
      • With minimum 3 years of industry experience in computing or relevant fields (e.g. Proficiency in Python programming language)
      • Students with relevant experience in supply chain or operation management
      • Students who has special interest and passion in big data analytics in supply chain, logistics and operations
      • Students with financial needs

      Exclusions

      Must not be a recipient of other scholarship/sponsorship  

      Tenure and Benefits of the Scholarship

      • No bond is required of the scholarship recipient.
      • The scholarship recipient is required to embark on an internship with Analytics Lab for a period of 4-6 months. The commitment level of the scholarship recipient will be negotiated during the selection process between the scholarship recipient and the lab’s management. Note that no additional payment is given for the internship.
      • The scholarship, valued at least S$10,000, will be disbursed in accordance to disbursement schedule set out by SIS Postgraduate office of the relevant master programme. Note that full disbursement is given only when the recipient's Internship with DSLab has been completed. The successful scholarship recipient shall finance tuition fees as per the MITB or MAIS programme’s requirement.

      Best Lab Intern award

      Analytics Lab offers best Lab intern award for the most productive student who worked on the lab projects.

      Eligible Criteria

      To be eligible for this Scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

      • Who have worked on the Lab projects.
      • Have been very productive and contribute significantly to the Lab project.

      Tenure and Benefits of the Scholarship

      • No bond is required of the award recipient.
      • The award recipient is required to embark on an internship with Analytics Lab for a period of 10 weeks. The commitment level of the scholarship recipient will be negotiated during the selection process between the scholarship recipient and the lab’s management. Note that no additional payment is given for the internship.
      • The award, valued at least S$3,000, will be given to student.
